TLI mounted an exhibition of antique and modern Irish laces in the master bedroom suite on the first floor of Fota House.
The exhibition was spread over the 5 rooms of the suite and showed that the craft of lace making is alive and well as many of the exhibits were the work of current members of TLI.
Beautiful antique Youghal needlelace together with modern examples could be viewed as well as antique and modern pieces of Limerick lace. Other laces on display included Carrickmacross, Borris, Kenmare, Inismacsaint, Mountmellick embroidery and Irish Crochet.
The full exhibition was open on Sundays when TLI members were available to answers queries on the display while one room was open during the week. The exhibition closed in October.
